Myka Place is a purpose-designed respite home created specifically for children with complex and high support needs in Western Australia.
Myka Place exists because there was a clear gap in Western Australia. It is currently the only child-safe respite provider of its kind in WA, purpose-built to support children with complex disabilities and high-intensity care needs. Child safety is not an add-on it is the foundation. Every system, policy, and practice is designed using trauma-informed principles, strong clinical governance, and best-practice disability standards.
Myka Place is a trusted leader in complex disability respite care for children. We support children requiring high-intensity personal and intimate care, medical and health-related supports, medication assistance, enteral feeding support, and emotional and behavioural regulation. Our service is built around clinical excellence, child-safe systems, and compassionate, experienced staff.
Elefly is a gentle symbol of strength, comfort, and emotional safety at Myka Place. Part elephant and part butterfly, Elefly represents strong care delivered gently reminding children they are safe, supported, and never alone, and reminding our team to lead with compassion, patience, and dignity.
Every space at Myka Place has been thoughtfully designed to support comfort, regulation, and safety. Our rooms and shared spaces prioritise accessibility, sensory regulation, calm lighting, gentle textures, privacy, dignity, and choice. Myka Place feels like a home not a facility.
Myka Place offers structured school holiday day respite programs for children with disability and complex support needs in Western Australia. Programs provide families with flexible respite while offering children meaningful, enjoyable experiences in a safe and supportive environment, including creative activities, sensory experiences, music and movement, themed days, and visiting facilitators.
